Easy Apple Cake

  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 5 tablespoons Butter, melted (65g)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 Apples (3 chopped, 1 thinly sliced)
  1. Preheat oven to 180C / 355F
  2. Peel the 4 apples, chop one into medium sized chunks, thinly slice the last apple(this will go on top)
  3. In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Into the dry ingredients, add in the melted butter, milk and egg.
  5. Mix to combine.
  6. Add in the 3 apples you cut into chunks. Stir to combine and coat the apples.
  7. Transfer the batter to the baking dish
  8. Take the sliced apple and lay over the top of the cake. If you want, sprinkle about 1 tsp of sugar over the top.
  9. Bake for 50 minutes, until it is firm to the touch and golden brown.
